The International Bluegrass Music Association is pleased to announce the election of new members to its Board of Directors and the election of its officers for the next twelve months. The following members were elected or re-elected to serve a three-year term commencing on Thursday, June 3, 2021:

Daniel Boner – Print, Media, and Education (re-elected to a second term)
Brad Kolodner – Broadcast Media (member elected)
Tristan Scroggins – Artists, Composers, and Music Publishers (member elected)
Deanie Richardson – At Large (board appointed)
Tim Stafford – At Large (board appointed)

The Board of Directors elected the following as officers on its Executive Committee:

Board Chair – Mike Simpson
Board Vice-Chair – Ashley Moyer
Treasurer – Adam Engelhardt
Secretary – Michelle Conceison
Executive Committee Member – Daniel Boner

Simpson, who was Treasurer of the IBMA Board, is a lifelong fan and supporter of Bluegrass whose mother’s family is from Rosine, Kentucky – the home of the father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe. He also is the past-Chairman of the Board of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum where he helped co-produce the ROMP music festival.

“I am excited about the future of Bluegrass and the IBMA,” says Simpson. “Our future is bright because of our fantastic Board and our hard-working Staff, and the leadership exhibited by Ben Surratt in guiding our Association through COVID-19 was nothing short of remarkable. Ben was tireless in getting IBMA through our highly-acclaimed virtual event while still advancing our mission, and we owe him a debt of gratitude.”

Simpson added, “I also look forward to working with our new Executive Director, Pat Morris, as we build upon our relationship with the City of Raleigh as hosts for the IBMA World of Bluegrass through 2024.”

The board and staff of the IBMA, along with all of its members, thank outgoing board members Kenny SmithBob Webster, and Joe Mullins for their outstanding service and contributions to the association and the entire bluegrass music community. As volunteers, they gave considerable time and effort in their service to the IBMA membership.
