International Bluegrass Music Association Now Accepting Applications for Events Director

NASHVILLE, TENN. (February 24, 2026) – The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) is now accepting applications for an Events Director to oversee the planning, production, and continued growth of its premier events, including IBMA World of Bluegrass®.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the IBMA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association dedicated to connecting and educating bluegrass industry professionals, empowering the bluegrass community, and promoting and marketing the genre worldwide. Founded in 1985, the organization represents more than 2,000 members across 50 states and 30 countries.

The Events Director will drive the planning and execution of IBMA’s signature programs, including IBMA World of Bluegrass®, Leadership Bluegrass, and Kids on Bluegrass, along with other member-focused events throughout the year. The position manages event strategy and logistics from start to finish, coordinating teams, production partners, ticketing systems, and operational processes to ensure seamless live and hybrid experiences.

“IBMA’s events are central to how we serve and strengthen the bluegrass community,” said Ken White, IBMA Executive Director. “We are looking for someone who brings both strategic thinking and strong operational experience to help us continue delivering meaningful experiences for our members and the global bluegrass industry.”

The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of experience in event management, preferably within nonprofit organizations, along with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills. The position requires the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems, and exceptional attention to detail. An interest in bluegrass music and an understanding of the broader music industry is considered a plus.
