Performers, Presenters Announced for 30th Annual IBMA Awards

Nashville, TN (Sept. 5, 2019) – A number of performers and presenters have been announced for IBMA’s 30th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards Show, scheduled for September 26 at Raleigh, North Carolina’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Two of the most celebrated and award-winning artists in bluegrass, Del McCoury and Jim Lauderdale, will host bluegrass music’s biggest night, where the music community acknowledges the year’s outstanding achievements, honors new Hall of Fame inductees, and waves the worldwide flag for bluegrass music.

Performers include “Entertainer of the Year” nominees Del McCoury Band, Earls of Leicester, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, Sam Bush Band, and Balsam Range (who will do a special performance with N.C. State Symphony Orchestra), as well as Darin & Brooke Aldridge, and Sister Sadie. An all-star performance that features hosts McCoury and Lauderdale with the 2018 Instrumentalists recipients Sierra Hull (“Mandolin Player of the Year”), Molly Tuttle (“Guitar Player of the Year”), Michael Cleveland (“Fiddle Player of the Year”), Justin Moses (“Dobro Player of the Year”), Ned Luberecki (“Banjo Player of the Year”), and Tim Surrett (“Bass Player of the Year”), will open the show. Additionally, Hall of Fame inductees The Kentucky Colonels, feat. Roger Bush, LeRoy McNees, Roland White, Herb Pedersen, and Patrick Sauber, will perform that evening.

Other artists participating in performances include Alan Bibey, Sam Bush, Charlie Cushman, Jerry Douglas, Christine Galante, Rob Ickes, Phil Leadbetter, Mark Schatz, and Josh Williams.

Presenters for the new inductees into the Hall of Fame are Sonny Osborne for inductee Bill Emerson, Herb Petersen for inductees The Kentucky Colonels, and Jerry Douglas and Rob Ickes for inductee Mike Auldridge. Also presenting at the Awards Show are Sierra Hull, Dan Tyminksi, Sam Bush, Laurie Lewis, Missy Raines, Frank Solivan, Eric Gibson, Leigh Gibson, Michael Cleveland, Becky Buller, Mark Schatz, Nic Gareiss, Jeremy Stephens, Anysley Porchak, the Po Ramblin’ Boys, Silvio Ferretti, and Nancy McFarlane, the mayor of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Over 220 acts performed throughout the entire week of World of Bluegrass.
