AN UPDATE FROM IBMA REGARDING COVID-19

To Our Bluegrass Community,

As the global situation with COVID-19 continues to unfold, the IBMA is committed to assisting the entire bluegrass music community in whatever way possible. This includes sharing information on resources available to those concerned about an impact on their physical and financial well-being, in addition to updates on IBMA World of Bluegrass 2020.

To that end, we would like to update you on the following:

We have created a Bluegrass Community Resource page on our website with pertinent information regarding COVID-19. Not only is this a hub for travel advisories and safety information, but also a way to help our fellow community members by offering recommendations for alternative revenue streams while live event cancellations continue.

As we plan for our event this fall, there are a number of short-term adjustments that we are carefully considering, including the possibility of delaying the opening date of ticket sales and hotel reservations. As of right now, there are no plans to cancel IBMA World of Bluegrass 2020. Given the level of uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we do not want to make any rash decisions about an event so far in the future. We ask for your patience as we work closely with the City of Raleigh to monitor the situation. Our commitment to the health of each person in the bluegrass community is our main priority.

For further updates on the matter, please follow our social media accounts, join our mailing list, and visit ibma.org and worldofbluegrass.org.

Be safe, stay vigilant, and keep on pickin’!
