NSAI & IBMA Collaborate to Launch "Bluebird in the Bluegrass" Songwriter Showcases

Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), The Bluebird Café and IBMA have joined forces to present a new quarterly bluegrass songwriter showcase series in Nashville. Organized by IBMA’s Songwriter Committee, the series will kick off with a World of Bluegrass Week focus on IBMA award nominees.

A band spotlight showcasing IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Claire Lynch (who is nominated again this year for the award), is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Featured songwriters on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 6-8 p.m. will include Song of the Year nominees Jamie Johnson and Susanne Mumpower-Johnson, co-writers of “I Am Strong” with Jenee Fleenor (The Grascals); Louisa Branscomb co-writer of “I’ll Take Love” with Dale Ann Bradley (Bradley with Alison Krauss & Steve Gulley); Chris Henry, writer of “Walkin’ West to Memphis” (The Gibson Brothers); Leigh Gibson, writer of “Help my Brother” (The Gibson Brothers) and Nicole Witt, co-writer of "Trains I Missed" with Walt Wilkins & Giles Godard, and recorded by Balsam Range.  We’ll also hear from Gospel Recorded Performance Event of the Year nominees Rick Lang, who wrote “Sailing On” (Russell Moore & Dale Ann Bradley) and Dennis Duff, who wrote “God’s Front Porch” (Lou Reid & Carolina). Belmont University’s Dan Keen—and a songwriter himself—will host the showcase on Sept. 28.

The Bluebird Café is located at 4104 Hillsboro Pike,  Nashville, TN 37215.  Click here to make reservations for Sept. 28 now!
