The IBMA Board of Directors welcomed Elizabeth Wightman in a board-appointed, At Large seat during their September 2012 meetings in Nashville.
“As a longtime fan of bluegrass music, I am really looking forward to using my business experience and music industry experience to help the IBMA grow its membership base as well as to continue to achieve its mission,” Wightman says.
Elizabeth Wightman is a native of California and currently resides in Santa Cruz, CA. She earned both her Bachelors in Economics (1988) and Masters in Business Administration (1992) at Santa Clara University and then went on to join the family insurance business. She has been in the insurance business for over 20 years and is the co-founder of SteelBridge Insurance Services which specializes in providing insurance products for nonprofit entities and the entertainment industry (primarily music related accounts). SteelBridge administers the IBMA Insurance Program for Event Producers as well as similar programs for other music associations. Elizabeth works with music festivals of all types, music-related nonprofits and touring bands throughout the country on safety planning and risk management. She has been a music advocate for many years in a variety of roles.
