Lineup of Performers Announced for 29th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards Show

The Del McCoury Band, I’m With Her, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, The Earls of Leicester, and The Gibson Brothers are among the performers

NASHVILLE, TENN (August 23, 2018) – The lineup of performers for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) 29th International Bluegrass Music Awards, Thursday, September 27, 7:30 p.m./ET, has been announced. The Awards Show will be held at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts (Memorial Auditorium) in Raleigh, NC, and will feature performances and award presentations from some of the genre’s brightest stars.

Performers will include these Entertainer of the Year nominees: Balsam Range, The Del McCoury Band, The Earls of Leicester, and The Gibson Brothers. Awards Show hosts Hot Rize will also welcome performances by Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, I’m With Her, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, the Becky Buller Band, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, Special Consensus, Paul Williams, the Molly Tuttle Band, and “The First Ladies of Bluegrass” – Alison Brown, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull, Missy Raines, and Molly Tuttle (the first five women to win Instrumentalist of the Year Awards on their respective instruments).

This year’s Awards Show theme is The Oak Tree, in a nod to the host city of Raleigh, NC, the “City of Oaks”.

In addition to recognizing 2018’s IBMA Award recipients and nominees, the Awards Show will also feature the induction into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame of Tom T. and Dixie Hall, Ricky Skaggs, and Paul Williams. The Awards Show is the centerpiece of IBMA’s five-day World of Bluegrass event, brought to you by Chiesi USA, held September 25 – 29 in Raleigh. Awards are voted on by the professional membership of the IBMA, the nonprofit professional association for the bluegrass music industry.
