Founded in 2012, the IBMA Youth Council (YC) is comprised of dedicated youth active in the bluegrass community. The YC strives to provide an outlet and direction for an up-and-coming generation of bluegrass and roots musicians and budding industry professionals. The YC organizes the youth track of events at IBMA's World of Bluegrass event in Raleigh, NC each year. Last year, events included a Youth Stage on Saturday with performances from five talented youth centered bands, a youth jamming room in the Raleigh Convention Center, band drop-ins, seminars and even some free pizza. In 2015, the YC plans to build on the strong foundation it laid last year to produce an even more outstanding set of events and opportunities for the future of bluegrass. For more information about 2015 plans and other the Youth Council activity, contact Susannah Armstrong (firstname.lastname@example.org), Danny Clark (email@example.com), or Taylor Coughlin (firstname.lastname@example.org.)
The YC is programming a special series of events just for youth at the World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, NC. Youth-centered jams, seminars, workshops, performances, and more will be taking place all week, September 29-October 3, offering more ways than ever to get involved in bluegrass music!
