Intern for IBMA!

Internships at International Bluegrass Music Association

What makes interning for IBMA a good choice?

"Interning with IBMA has been the most rewarding experience. I’ve learned so much about the organization and all the amazing things that they do, as well as gained organizational, planning, and writing skills, and learned new programs. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and willing to teach me things with which I haven’t had prior experience, and I have learned more here than in any other position I’ve held. I’d highly recommend interning at IBMA to anyone who is looking for a small, friendly environment with ample  space to learn and grow."

IBMA seeks people with a strong interest in the music business to intern with us. Internships are unpaid positions, and carry a commitment of twelve to twenty hours per week in our Inglewood office (in Nashville, TN). We offer internships for spring, summer and fall semesters. All internships are for college credit only. You will be given responsibilities commensurate with your capabilities and resourcefulness.

Learn about all facets of the music business by working for the trade organization that works to empower the global bluegrass community.

We welcome ambitious, self-motivated candidates with proficiencies in some or all of these areas:

  • Social media and communications
  • Front end web design
  • Database management

Projects you may be working on include: IBMA's annual World of Bluegrass festival; our professional development course, Leadership Bluegrass; the awards process; the monthly newsletter; membership campaigns; social media campaigns and more. You will most likely work in many areas. The work ethic at IBMA is to roll up our sleeves and take on whatever tasks need to get done.
